The “George Emil Palade” UMFST Library in Târgu Mureș is participating in the VIFU program (Volunteering for the Benefit of the University) and invites you to carry out this service within the University Library.
VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate, alongside designated librarians, in the digitization process of the library’s special collections, including the selection and organization of materials;
- Participate in the extended hours program of the Medicine and Pharmacy Library (on weekends, in rotation);
- Assist on-site librarians in performing routine activities.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Priority is given to students willing to volunteer on Saturdays and Sundays;
- Priority is given to students who know an international language;
- Priority is given to students with solid computer skills;
- The Library reserves the right to select volunteers based on their availability.
SKILLS ACQUIRED:
- Familiarization with basic library science concepts;
- Skills in retrieving information from electronic resources;
- Info-documentary research skills;
- Handling of publications;
- Development of communication skills and team spirit;
- Development of appropriate behavior within the university environment;
- Responsibility and punctuality.
APPLICATION:
Students of our university who are interested in volunteering at the Library must submit a request (VIFU SERVICES REQUEST form) to the Secretariat of the General Administrative Directorate at the beginning of each academic year.
